Opportunity in Pain

Finding the Opportunity in Every Moment

Being from a farming and ranching community, it is easy to complain about all the heat and lack of rain we have had this year. As the mercury continues to rise and stay at record highs, we fight to keep the irrigation motors running, the cows quenched, ourselves hydrated and so on. But to the west, there are other fights that we are not battling at this point. We think of our neighboring state, Colorado, as they continue to tame the flames engulfing homes and habitat. Weather was a common discussion when I visited Denver last weekend and soon found that the heat and lack of rain have affected everyone, everywhere, just in different ways. Believing that there is a purpose and opportunity in everything, our group came up with a couple:
• * Killing pine beetle that is destroying forests throughout Colorado
• No mosquitos

What else can you come up with to add to the list? Praying for all who are attempting to beat the heat and drought!
